Nods is a municipality in the Jura bernois administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland, located in the French-speaking Bernese Jura (Jura Bernois).

Nods is first mentioned in 1255 as Nos.[3]

Demographics
Nods has a population (as of 31 December 2020) of 788.[5] As of 2007[update], 6.5% of the population was made up of foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years the population has grown at a rate of 11.8%. Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks French (85.0%), with German being second most common (12.3%) and Portuguese being third (1.0%).
In the 2007 election the most popular party was the SVP which received 34.2% of the vote. The next three most popular parties were the FDP (19.6%), the SPS (19.2%) and the Green Party (13.9%).
The age distribution of the population (as of 2000[update]) is children and teenagers (0–19 years old) make up 27.4% of the population, while adults (20–64 years old) make up 58.5% and seniors (over 64 years old) make up 14.1%. The entire Swiss population is generally well educated. In Nods about 73.3% of the population (between age 25-64) have completed either non-mandatory upper secondary education or additional higher education (either University or a Fachhochschule).
Nods has an unemployment rate of 1.27%. As of 2005[update], there were 69 people employed in the primary economic sector and about 29 businesses involved in this sector. 34 people are employed in the secondary sector and there are 8 businesses in this sector. 52 people are employed in the tertiary sector, with 17 businesses in this sector.[6] The historical population is given in the following table:[3]
