Brenzikofen is a municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.
History
Brenzikofen is first mentioned in 1236 as Brenzichovin.[3]
Geography

Demographics
Brenzikofen has a population (as of 31 December 2020) of 481.[5] As of 2007[update], 1.9% of the population was made up of foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years the population has grown at a rate of 9.5%. Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks German (99.0%), with Danish being second most common ( 0.4%) and English being third ( 0.2%).
In the 2007 election the most popular party was the SVP which received 42.3% of the vote. The next three most popular parties were the Green Party (13.4%), the SPS (12.1%) and the FDP (11.7%).
The age distribution of the population (as of 2000[update]) is children and teenagers (0–19 years old) make up 28% of the population, while adults (20–64 years old) make up 58.6% and seniors (over 64 years old) make up 13.4%. The entire Swiss population is generally well educated. In Brenzikofen about 81.7% of the population (between age 25-64) have completed either non-mandatory upper secondary education or additional higher education (either University or a Fachhochschule).
Brenzikofen has an unemployment rate of 1.33%. As of 2005[update], there were 22 people employed in the primary economic sector and about 9 businesses involved in this sector. 11 people are employed in the secondary sector and there are 3 businesses in this sector. 76 people are employed in the tertiary sector, with 16 businesses in this sector.[6] The historical population is given in the following table:[3]
