Kate Hardie (born 1969) is a British actress, who found success appearing in a number of TV and Film roles.
Biography
Hardie's surname is derived from those of both her parents: Jean Hart and comedian turned naturalist Bill Oddie.[1]
Career
After leaving home aged 14, by aged 19 she had starred in six films including The Krays, Mona Lisa and played Kevin Kline's daughter in Richard Attenborough's Cry Freedom.[2]
On television there were roles in The Men's Room, Safe and Beyond Reason. She spent five months in Hollywood, before returning to the UK to play her most notable role in playing student nurse Karen O'Malley in the BBC drama series Casualty. In 199, she starred in Croupier.[2]
Personal life
Hardie left school and home in Hampstead, North London to live with a boy when she was 14. She then lived with actor Dorian Healey for six years.
