The municipality is located near the [[Aare river]], but since 1881 does not touch the river.

The next three most popular parties were the [[Social Democratic Party of Switzerland|SPS]] (25.5%), the [[Free Democratic Party of Switzerland|FDP]] (12.7%) and the [[Green Party of Switzerland|Green Party]] (4.9%).
