Lütschental is a municipality in the district of Interlaken in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.
History
Lütschental is first mentioned in 1238 as Liscinthal. In 1275 it was mentioned as Lyzental.[3]
Geography
Lütschental has an area of Template:Km2 to mi2. Of this area, 25.3% is used for agricultural purposes, while 47.1% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 1.4% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (26.3%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).[4]
The peak of Winteregg, the highest mountain in the municipality, lies at Template:M to ft. Lütschental lies in a valley which extends from Interlaken to Grindelwald. The name Lütschental means "valley of the Lütschine River", which flows through it.
Lütschental belongs to the parish of Gsteig bei Interlaken.
