Christopher Rajendran Hyman (born 1963 in Durban, South Africa),[1] is Chief Executive of Serco Group.

Biography

Born in Durban, he is the second of four children born into an Indian Pentecostal Christian family.[1] Hyman attended Gandhi Desai High School and the University of Natal.

Career

On graduation, he worked for Arthur Andersen. In 1989, he won an 18-month exchange with Ernst & Young in London, who employed him after four months.[1] Head hunted in 1994 by Serco, Hyman became European finance director, and in 1999 was made group finance director. In 2002, Hyman became chief executive, working under former CEO and now executive chairman.

Racing driver

Hyman is a passionate racing driver, having joined the Formula Palmer Audi championship in 1999. In 2007, he joined the FIA GT3 European Championship, and is presently taking part in the 2009 British GT Championship with Chad Racing, alongside Paul Warren and José Manuel Balbiani in a Ferrari F430 4.3L V8 GT3.[2]

Personal life

Married to a fellow South African, the couple live in Surrey and have two children.[1]
