Orla Brady (born 28 March 1961) is an Irish actress.

Like many actresses, she started out with a varied career, including some modelling. While a struggling actress in London, England, one piece of day work for which she was paid £50 was to pose for a DIY-painting guide The Illustrator's Figure Reference Manual. After the original of Jack Vettriano's painting The Singing Butler was sold at auction in 2004 for £750,000, it was revealed that the painter had used the manual to from his figures for the painting, including Orla for the 'lady in red.'[1]

She appeared in the short-lived American television series Family Law. Otherwise, she has appeared in Irish and British movies and TV programmes, including Mistresses and the BBC's A Love Divided as Sheila Cloney.

A Love Divided was about a real-life mixed-religion couple (Sean and Sheila Cloney) in 1950s Ireland, and a clerically supported economic boycott by the majority community against the small Protestant community in Fethard-on-Sea County Wexford Ireland after a Protestant mother moves away with her children in a family dispute about where to educate their daughters. The community were encouraged to regard the situation as a 'kidnapping' of the children to deny them a 'proper' upbringing.

When asked her personal opinion of the matter, Brady agreed the Ne Temere were to blame and it had helped to seriously decrease the size of the Protestant community in southern Ireland. She currently resides in Los Angeles

She has also starred in Nip/Tuck, a US TV drama about plastic surgeons as Dr. Jordan, a female plastic surgeon who, unusually for the series, declined sex with Dr. Christian Troy. She later starred as Claire Stark, the divorced ex-wife of James Woods in hit series Shark.

Most recently, she has appeared in BBC drama Mistresses and has narrated on Freaky Eaters.
