Omar Metwally is an American born actor of Arabian/Dutch heritage.
Metwally was born in Queens, New York to an Arab father and a Dutch mother, but moved with the family to Orange County, California aged three where he was raised and educated.[1]
Metwally started acting on the west coat, performing around the bay area and earning an M.F.A. at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. He started acting on Broadway theatre in January 2000, appearing as "Aram" in Beast on the Moon and receiving a Tony Award nomination for his work in Sixteen Wounded.[2] He is now a regular participant in the New York Arab-American Comedy Festival, first as an actor and now as a director, including a production of With Love From Ramallah.
Metwally's film and television credits include The Unit, Nash Bridges and Life on the Ledge; and he currently stars as an abducted Eygptian in the film Rendition.
Metwally currently resides in Fountain Valley, California.
