Lucy Owen (née Cohen) is a Welsh television news reader.

Owen graduated from the Royal Holloway, University of London in English[1], before becoming a television presenter. She joined HTV Wales, and since 1997 co-presents Wales Tonight, the regional news programme on ITV Wales, broadcast from Cardiff.

Lucy presented on the now defunct ITV News Channel, and has been seen anchoring the main ITV News, Lunchtime News, 'Evening News and the Weekend News.

Personal life

Lucy married fellow Welsh television presenter Rhodri Owen in June 2004 at St Andrew's Church in St Andrews Major near Dinas Powys[2]. The couple live in both Cardiff and London.

In 2001 the then Ms Cohen was stalked by Ashley Jenkins, 24, a student from Swansea who sent the presenter more than 70 letters[3]; Jenkins was later held in a secure unit. In March 2004 having collected 12points on her driving license, Lucy escaped a driving ban after she appealed to magistrates that she needed her car after she was stalked[4].
