The 29th installment of Singapore's award ceremony Star Awards (Chinese: 红星大奖2024)," honored the best in Singaporean prime time television programming in 2023, as chosen by the both the television and radio industry of Singapore. The nominations were announced on 22 February 2024,[1] and will be presented on 21 April 2023 through multiple channels including streaming websites mewatch and YouTube, who also provide exclusive backstage commentary 3:30 PM to 10:30 PM.[2]
Ceremony Information
In an announcement on 22 February, the award's slogan will be "A Vision Transformed, Shining in All Directions," through meticulously crafted stages and captivating visual effects, presenting the evolution and changes in the world of film and television, with the concept of increasingly splendid multi-directional screens. The ceremony will present 18 awards, with "All That Glitters" named the most nominated series with 11 nominations, including seven major categories ("Best Actor", "Best Actress", "Best Supporting Actor" "Best Drama" "Young Talent Award", "Best Director", and "Best Screenplay")
The ceremony follows four main chapters - Ignite, Inspire, Impact, and Influence - symbolizing the various stages "Star" has experienced in their performing career. It cleverly incorporates the element of "quadrants" throughout, leading the audience into a feast of "vision transformation" entertainment. As in the past, the ceremony will present major professional awards and popularity awards to commend media professionals who have performed outstandingly in front of and behind the scenes over the past year. In addition, stars from both home and abroad will gather to add charm and color to this annual event.
This year's recipients for the "All-time Favorite Artistes" were Ann Kok and Jesseca Liu, having by-virtue on winning their tenth Top 10 Favorite Female Artiste last year. The artists currently with nine awards at the time, Pornsak and Yvonne Lim, were neither nominated for the Top 10 Favorite Artiste last year.
