== History ==

The first edition honored the individuals for their contributions in 2014. The awards ceremony doesn't have many permanent categories, with exception to only few such as Telugu NRI of The Year, Telugu NRI of the Year, etc. In the first edition, the awards were divided into two segments–Main and Popular. In the next edition, Lifetime Achievement Awards were introduced along with the existing two segments. By the next edition, another type is introduced i.e., Young Achiever Awards. In the same edition, Lifetime Achievement Award categories were included in another newly formed segment–Special Recognition Awards. Whereas, in the fourth edition, Lifetime Achievement Awards and Special Recognition Awards were given as two separate segments. In the 2018 edition, there are no Lifetime Achievement Awards given. In 6th and 7th editions the awards were divided into segments–Main and Cinema. Both Special Recognition and Young Achiever Awards were also included in the Main awards whereas the Cinema awards honoured the artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the [[Telugu cinema]].
