James Sherwood (born circa 1934), is an American born British based businessman.
Sherwood is best known as the founder and chairman of Bermuda based shipping company Sea Containers Ltd, which he expanded into luxury hotels and railway trains, including the Venice Simpleon Orient Express and the Great North Eastern rail franchise from London to Edinburgh.
Although valued with a net worth of £60million in the 2004 Sunday Times Rich List[1], as Sea Containers hit financial troubles, he has resigned form each of his companies in 2006.
