The 16th season of the television program Germany's Next Topmodel^[1] was aired on the German network ProSieben in February 2021. As with the two previous seasons, rather than having a regular judging panel, each episode has one or more guest judges.

Season 16 prizes include a photographic cover and spread in the German edition of Harper's Bazaar, a €100,000 cash prize, and an Opel Mokka.^[2]

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic in Germany, the season was filmed under strict COVID-19 regulations. As a result, Season 16 is the first season to be filmed exclusively in Europe.^[3]

The new season begins with the 31 semifinalists of Germany's Next Topmodel 2021 arriving in Berlin, Germany. Host Heidi Klum surprised the girls with a fashion show. At her side was French designer Manfred Thierry Mugler. The girls then took part in a fashion show wearing Irene Luft gowns. The episode ended with Heidi Klum selecting 25 girls to be a part of the 16th cycle of the show.

The top 25 moved in to their modelloft in Berlin. After that, Ricarda decided to quit the competition. Later that day, the girls had a catwalk training with Heidi. On the next day, the girls had their very first photoshoot, a promo shoot with host Heidi Klum. At elimination, the girls had fashion show wearing Marina Hoermanseder gowns. Larissa and Maria landed in the bottom two. In the end, Maria was eliminated.

The week started with a ballet training for the girls. On the next day, the girls had their second photoshoot in Berlin. Before the shoot, Sara decided to quit the competition. The girls had to shoot in pairs while portraying ballet dancers. Alex, Alysha, Amina, Ashley, Chanel, Elisa, Larissa, Linda, Luca, Romy and Soulin were the best in their pair and won immunity for the next elimination. At elimination, the remaining eleven girls had to battle it out at the catwalk. In the end, Nana was eliminated.

The week started with a roller skating training for the girls. On the next day, the girls had their next big photoshoot in Berlin. The girls had to shoot in front of a hotel, posing with dogs and portraying luxurious woman. At elimination, the girls had to walk nude while covered being in foam. Before the catwalk, Mira decided to quit the competition. In the end, Sarah was eliminated.
