Hey Marchjuly,

Sorry about uploading the Victoria Titans logo, I am just confused why you want to delete the Titans logos when it’s the best Victoria Titans logo I could find on the web.

The logo was originally for infobox but the team had to be changed to its last name which was Victoria Giants. So I made logo gallery like the Cairns Taipans page. Please show me how to do basketball club logo gallery?

I see there could be a copyright issue because it was for a basketball infobox.

Here is the link where I found the logo Logo link

Could you please show me how to upload this logo properly so I don’t make the same mistake.

Thanks,

Giacontigers

If you can find any sourced critical commentary that discusses the team's change in branding (i.e. its change in logo) that actually goes into some detail about the change and just isn't some type of really general statement like "The team changed its logo" or "the team has a new logo", then add that information to the article and update the file's non-free use rationale. If you can do that, then it might be possible to iustify that the file's non-free use meets WP:NFCC#8 and is needed to support commentary about the logo. Simply wanting to show the former logo for the sake of showing it, however, is pretty much never allowed for the reasons given in WP:NFC#CS and WP:NFC#cite_note-4.
As for the logo gallery in Cairns Taipans, that is also something not allowed per relevant policy for basically the same reasons and has now been removed. Just because non-free logos are being used in a certain way in an article, doesn't mean that the particular use in policy compliant or that it's OK to do the same thing on other articles as explained in WP:OTHERIMAGE and WP:NOBODYCOMPLAINED. It could just mean that nobody noticed the problem(s) with the file(s) use until someone notices them or points them out (like you did above). -- Marchjuly (talk) 09:40, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. I would love to explain why the Victoria Titans changed their brand into more details, but finding articles is far between. Hard because this team does not exist anymore. I did find some articles on the old NBL website back in 2004. Some articles about the Giants brand but still not enough information.

I know the Titans were formed by two NBL teams which were South East Melbourne Magic and North Melbourne Giants. Titans were a successful NBL team but just could not win a NBL championship. They lasted for 4 seasons from 1998 to 2002. Eventually the Titans ran out of money and the team had to fold.

New ownership bought the team and they became the Victoria Giants. There was a lot of criticism about the name change because it alienized the Magic fans. Moving stadiums was another big factor.

The Giants brand only lasted for 2 seasons before they folded in 2004. Their license got sold to Mark Cowan eventual owner of the South Dragons which formed in the 2006/07 NBL season. Sadly they only lasted for 3 seasons even though they won a championship in the 2009 season.
