George W. Meeker (11/20/1834-7/26/1890) was born in Union County, Ohio. Mr. Meeker was a justice of the peace from 1863 until 1869. He was also a lawyer. He served as Columbus mayor from 1869 until 1870. He was secretary of the Democratic State Central Committee. He married Harriet Hatch in August of 1858. He is buried in Green Lawn Cemetery.
