Summary

Description

St. Peter's Church (Church of Ireland), Peter's Hill, Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland

English: Apostle font of St. Peter's Church, probably from the early 16th century, with panels 5 and 6 per Helen M. Roe, Two Decorated Fonts in Drogheda, Co. Louth, JSTOR 27729409, depicting the surviving lower parts of two apostles (panel 5 with two niches) and the Baptism of Jesus (panel 6). According to Helen M. Roe the right apostle could be St. Peter. The fillup with the inscription of the fifth panel reads: “This font was restored in 1921 at the charges of William Chamney Schomberg Co Wicklow in memory of his father William Graves Chamney baptized in this church 1821”.
