Delta Upsilon - Sigma Kappa Sigma chapter

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. ~ Amory (utc) 02:23, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

no reason for a redirect from a single chapter Naraht (talk) 23:42, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - not mentioned at the target. If it was mentioned then a {{R to list entry}} would probably have been perfectly fine. Thryduulf (talk) 17:17, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No reason to redirect from a single chapter name. Naraht (talk) 23:12, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. {{R to list entry}} redirects are a thing, and there is no reason why this one wouldn't be a good example of them - if it had an entry in the list, but it doesn't. Thryduulf (talk) 17:15, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. Helluva title, though ~ Amory (utc) 02:25, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of any song at target, contains miscapitalization, can be re-created if required. Richhoncho (talk) 22:57, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Keep ""Fuck Shit Stack" is mentioned. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 23:16, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. Anyone is welcome to restore and improve the article if they feel it passes muster ~ Amory (utc) 02:25, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Probably rather misleading redirect, since lemma is neither mentioned or explained in nor synonymous with the given target. Hildeoc (talk) 15:46, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • The topic is clearly discussed in the target article. Either keep (and refine to Truck#Cab) or restore article. RFD nominations shouldn't be used for backdoor article deletion. - Eureka Lott 16:31, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep and refine or restore article per EurekaLott, although I'm going to explicitly say that I think the nomination here is in good faith and not an attempted end-run around process as the former article was redirected in 2016. Thryduulf (talk) 17:21, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of a song of this name on album article. I couldn't find an alternative target. Richhoncho (talk) 15:01, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Not mentioned at the target, and I very much doubt many users would be typing in Eminem's real name to find one of his songs. Ss112 22:06, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Another SNL related redirect with no clear explanation in the article itself, that also seems to be a pointless search term anyways. Goveganplease (talk) 01:05, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Milton (cartoon). (This discussion was originally closed by King of Hearts, but the close stated that the redirect should target itself, so that was probably an obvious error.) (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 19:59, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely search term that hasn't seen much use. Goveganplease (talk) 01:00, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

We should have something as a redirect so we can link it to the appropriate places in the film's article or Mike Judge's bio. Office Space (shorts) is better, per WP:SLASH and basic legibility. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 01:21, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

malformed DAB page Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 17:20, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - {{R from move}}, page was at this title for five years. Per WP:LINKROT (as in, degradation of external links to Wikipedia) Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:51, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Ivanvector. Thryduulf (talk) 18:36, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, pointless. It was not at this title for 5 years; it was 7 months, 12 years ago. —Xezbeth (talk) 10:45, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thryduulf and Ivanvector, the page wasn't at this title since its creation but only between this move from April 2007 and the next move seven months later. – Uanfala (talk) 04:28, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • That doesn't alter my opinion that this is harmless and potentially useful. Thryduulf (talk) 09:58, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • What possibly use could someone have for an external link to a disambiguation page? There's no linkrot concern here (0 hits). Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 08:25, 24 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Being the article title for seven months twelve years ago is in my opinion beyond the threshold for seeking to keep redirects from moves. And as Headbomb points out, this is not an article but a dab page, so the usual rationales for keeping are almost negligible anyway. – Uanfala (talk) 02:26, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not plausible spellings of the band's members. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 21:12, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Working on Eisen at this very moment, I noticed there was a redirect called Eizen, but the only article that that spelling pulled up was the redirect in question. However, there is one reference cited that did spell Erez Eisen as Erez Eizen. The other spellings I have no knowledge about. However, since this was originally a German name meaning iron, I could understand why transliterations might cause two spellings of this particular family name. I suggest checking who created the Eizen redirect to Eisen, and who added the Eizen-spelling reference. If they are the same person, given that the reference I skimmed also transliterates at least one other foreign term (Hebrew, perhaps), then remove the Erez Eizen redirect. If the surname redirect and the article reference are created by different accounts, let that redirect be. Thanks for all your hard work! Geekdiva (talk) 18:55, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. We don't redirect any old lyric in the middle of a song to that song unless the lyric is particularly well-known. King of ♠ 05:03, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently part of a Lonely Island song, but no info is provided in the article whatsoever. Goveganplease (talk) 01:02, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Again, not a likely search term one would enter in the hopes of reaching the main page. Goveganplease (talk) 00:56, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - this one, with a backslash instead of a forward slash, does not seem to be in use by anyone. I think if anyone typed the URL the software would replace the backslash with a forward slash, which would make the address functionally equivalent of the redirect in the section below. I don't really know if that's how it works, though. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 01:15, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • In my experimentation with F\ I'm always taken to either search results or a page to start an article, never the F/ redirect or it's target (f-number). Thryduulf (talk) 12:33, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • On Safari and Firefox, typing "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F\" (F\) into the url bar gives me an automatic redirect to F/ (and then to F-number. Seems it works in that context, but if I type "F\" into the search box (on the start page or anywhere else) I get the expected search results and not F/. I'd be curious to know what you are doing differently. - PaulT+/C 01:09, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
        • Interesting, I mustn't have tried typing the whole url into the address bar as that is what I see in Firefox (the only browser I have open right now). My usual method of navigating is via an address bar shortcut - i.e. I type "wp " followed by the name of the page I'm looking for and doing that works as you describe the search box doing. I just tried typing enwp.org/F\ into the address bar and that to lead me to f-number via F/). This is all rather odd. Thryduulf (talk) 02:54, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep or weak retarget to Wiki. It does get some hits so people are using it, but it's not clear what they are looking for - the Main page or Wiki articles seem the most likely. Unfortunately google completely ignores the \ character when searching so it's of no help at all. Thryduulf (talk) 12:33, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as implausible redirect. --B dash (talk) 15:37, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - Search terms are not the only reason to have a redirect. It seems like an easy mistake to make if someone is not used to how URLs work. Both https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki\ and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/wiki\ lead to this page and the main page seems like a reasonable place to start. One other slightly better alternative is to redirect to Wiki and add a link to the main page in a hatnote at wiki. In this case I think the latter is a better option (in contrast to the below discussion on wiki/ where I think the opposite is a better way to go) because it is more likely to be a typo instead of a deliberate action to attempt to go to the main page. - PaulT+/C 21:13, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, unlike Wiki/, no one sane would look for the main page using that. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 18:09, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per User:Ivanvector and User:Headbomb. The only way people would search for this would be if they thought forward slashes and backslashes were the same thing. It would be almost like thinking the URL of Wikipedia was http:\\en.wikipedia.org\wiki. JIP | Talk 23:11, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
