- File:Serbian Migrations to Croatia.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs) – uploaded by PaxEquilibrium (notify | contribs | uploads).
- Unused map showing the migration of Serbs moving to Croatia in the 15th century. It is tagged with {{PD-old-100}}, but no source is given to support the claim that the author died over 100 years ago. Note that the map uses Helvetica (a typeface created in 1957) and shows the modern borders of Croatia (compare Subdivisions of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and see [2], which says that the modern borders of Croatia were not fixed until after the Second World War). So it seems that the {{PD-old-100}} tag is false, and thus we have no source or licensing information for this map. —Bkell (talk) 16:08, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- File:Kawasaki Ninja Logo-Square.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs) – uploaded by Sreejithk2000 (notify | contribs | uploads).
- I uploaded a photo I took of the Ninja logo on my motorcycle. Administrators have removed my copyright and given it to the company (Kawasaki Heavy Industries) who made the product I photographed. Additionally, my name has been removed from the work. I wish to have my photo removed from Wikipedia or have my name added to the File history and my copyright with a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License re-instated on the photo. mattofwashington (talk) 21:40, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment It would help here if we could link to an explanation of why photos logos (alone) on objects like vehicles are not free -- Wikipedia:Logos doesn't mention it specifically. See also Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files/2010 November 26.
Personally, I don't see how the article Kawasaki Ninja meets the criteria in Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline. But if Wikipedia can use this logo, then we would want to replace the current one with an example that better meets the criteria for logos anyway, such as the GIF here. This would moot Mattofwashington's request to either CC license his photo or delete it and all would be well. --Dbratland (talk) 22:24, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - This photo contains the logo alone and not the full image of the bike. So this becomes a derivative work and so the copyright goes to the original copyright owner of the logo. But since this logo is too simple, I believe it cannot be copyrighted. In that case, you can remove the non-free rationale and put {{PD-text}} as the license. Also, if you can upload another photo with the entire bike visible, that photo can be attributed to you. --Sreejith K (talk) 03:59, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
