Care with edits

Hi Mauitunes, Just a little reminder to take care when editing. When making changes to the Solitaire (album) article on July 10, you broke the infobox, which meant the album cover image no longer appeared. Some weeks later that image was flagged as an orphan, i.e. it no longer appeared on an article page, and the image file was subsequently deleted from Wikipedia. I have now deleted the file name from the infobox. If you notice that things don't look as they should after you have edited an article, please ask for help or simply revert to the original. Thanks. Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:07, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Chris Hardwick, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages ABC and Serenity (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Question for administrator

<My account has been blocked from editing automatically for allegedly being an "open proxy," from what I could gather from the Wikipedia definition as an accusation against me, and therefore essentially my account, as being open to an untold number of users. I am at a total loss as to why this has occurred. Yes, I use Wikipedia a great many times, sometimes dozens of times a day, but for research. I admit to making several update edits, as my page shows, and tend to forget to guard against occasional disambiguations. I am working hard to take my time to ensure that these edits are properly identified in full prior to making it a final edit. But as you can see, Wikipedia is an essential source of information for my writings in a professional musicians' journal as well as in columns, social media sources, etc. I literally could not meet my deadlines without it. But as to being an "open proxy," this is ludicrous. I have no idea why this assertion would be levelled against me. I am a sole user using a single laptop (or my wife's if mine is in for repair--but if only absolutely necessary); she does use my computer on only very occasional usage since she has her own computer. Therefore, I humbly and respectfully request your most timely removal of the block on my account for this incorrect (and literally impossible) accusation. Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.>

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
