Abu Azeez moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Abu Azeez, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 16:46, 20 March 2019 (UTC)

Take it one at a time. Don't worry about how many, simply make each as complete as you can. But don't be afraid to create a stub, and then go back and flesh it out later. Onel5969 TT me 23:40, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

Inaccurate redirect for Peter C. Oppenheimer

@Lapablo: There appears to be a great deal of confusion with the Peter Oppenheimer Wikipedia articles. There are two current Peter Oppenheimers on Wikipedia, Peter Oppenheimer who worked for Apple and is on the board of Goldman Sachs and Peter Oppenheimer (economist) who is an economist and fellow of Christ Church, Oxford. The third Peter Oppenheimer is the one that I wrote about today in a new article and that was mistakenly redirected. This is Peter C. Oppenheimer, the chief global equity strategist and head of Macro Research in Europe at Goldman Sachs. These are three different people with completely different accomplishments and I’m requesting that the Peter C. Oppenheimer article that was redirected today be reinstated as its own article. Here is an article about each of them so that you can see that these are all different people.

Peter Oppenheimer: https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2014/03/04Apples-Peter-Oppenheimer-to-Retire-at-the-End-of-September/

Erroneous Deletion of The Wicks Group (TWG)

Hi Lapablo,

I'm writing to respectfully request your rationale for deletion of The Wicks Group (TWG), as well as your suggestions for improving the page to enhance its use as an encyclopedia. In preparing the page, great care was taken to ensure that the content thereof was non-promotional and written in a factual, objective manner and tied to independent, third-party news citations. Other than citing the firm's website to substantiate information about the year of its founding and its location in Washington, DC, all content was backed by numerous independent, third-party, objective news sources. As far as possible, the page's content complied with Wikipedia's rules and guidelines for use, notability criteria and objectivity parameters.

Thank you in advance for your reply. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Srnelsontwg (talkcontribs) 18:00, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

* Srnelsontwg Hello, thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately i am unable to retrieve the page but i believe if i tagged it for being promotional, it was. I have noticed you tried declaring a COI with the subject on your talk page which i have properly fixed for you. Please note that if at any point in time you have COI with a subject it is required that such article goes through WP:AFC or submitted through Wikipedia draft. Try starting a draft and i'll guide you from there. Lapablo (talk) 08:32, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Declination of Draft:Andre Julian

On May 10, 2019 you reviewed and declined the article Draft:Andre Julian, providing the following rationale: This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). I wish to offer an opposing opinion to your cursory review of the article. To wit:

  • The very 1st reference in the Andre Julian article is from Morningstar of Morningstar, Inc. Per Wiki's Morningstar page -- "Morningstar's research and recommendations are considered extremely influential in the asset management industry". In this published, reliable, secondary that is independent of the subject (in conformance to guidelines on the notability of people) - this reference is not a passing mention (indeed, the entire article is on Andre Julian) and Morningstar writes: "Notable Financial Commentator Andre Julian Addresses South OC Professionals In Human Resources Association." (BTW, for those who know nothing about PIHRA - PIHRA is the largest affiliate of the Society for Human Resources Management.) Further down in the same Morningstar article we have "PIHRA is hosting notable television financial commentator, Andre Julian."
  • The Television references in the Andre Julian article are summary references, indicating a large body of work - interviews and commentary on the top financial programs in the country. These videos speak for themselves (no pun intended) as to the expertise that Julian has provided. All these networks/programs invited Andre Julian to opine on the economy and evaluate the state of the financial sector because they, in their assessment, recognized that Andre Julian is an expert, as such - notable in the field.
  • The TED Organization vets distinguished individuals in their field. Only a select few are invited to give a TED Talk. Andre Julian was invited to give a TED Talk. Even an elementary practitioner of syllogisms would correctly infer that Andre Julian is distinguished (as such - notable) in his field.
  • What is not referenced in the Andre Julian article is his association with the UCI program for almost a decade. His Mentor of the year award which was referenced I thought to be sufficient to demonstrate Julian's outstanding recognition by the Paul Merage School of Business. But the UCI association is evidence that Andre Julian - on a social and academic level - gives back to the community. It's not Keanu Reeves notable but tell that to the graduates Julian mentored.
  • Anyone who knows anything about the LEAP Foundation knows that the founder, Dr. Bill Dorfman, selects the most competent and prominent people to present "success in life" skills to young adults. The Andre Julian article has a reference to an interview where Dr. Dorfman refers to Julian as a wealth guru, extols Julian's credentials and Dr. Dorfman expresses his appreciation that Andre Julian is part of the program.

Neil Cavuto (I don't know if you even know who that is) once refered to Andre Julian as a "titan in the industry" in a studio discussion. Neil Cavuto, as just one example, has excellent credentials in business and finance. So I would, as a matter of passing, like to know what your (Lapablo) credentials are in business and finance. After all - you just passed judgement on someone in a field that (apparently) you know little of and a judgement that is at odds with the judgements of experts in the field. It is sad that individuals that are not experts see themselves as competent adjudicators in fields of their non expertise. This is very damaging to the credibility of Wikipedia. I would never suggest the deletion of Manu Garba, or Utazi Chukwuka, or Joshua M. Lidani, or Gilbert Nnaji ... even though these people are to me completely unknown and show no indication of any significant accomplishments. But, should their names pop up in the course of a conversation, it would be nice to know that they can be looked up on Wikipedia and be provided with enough information to conduct further research. This is the power of Wikipedia. A compendium and repository of lots of reliable information.

I would refer you to the Wikipedia article: Chesterton's Fence (not Wiki policy). Chesterton's fence is the principle that reforms should not be made until the reasoning behind the existing state of affairs is understood. In the section "What this means on Wikipedia" we have "If you're considering nominating something for deletion ... research its history first". I would suggest you refrain from summarily proposing deletions of articles that are indeed objectively sourced, that give an indication the subject is notable in his/her field and might be a source of reliable information to the curious user.

What little I know of your Wiki activity, to me, indicates what some might call intellectual vandalism. I truly hope that is not the case since you seem to sincere, as evidenced by your desire to promote Nigerien personalities - a good thing. There also seems to be a tendency of negative bias towards everything else - not a good thing. At any rate, I will not pursue that speculation at this time. I would hate to see you sanctioned for irresponsible, arbitrary or prejudiced evaluations. It seems you have much to offer the Wikipedia community so I hope you temper any rash decision making by resisting hasty decisions that result in dismissals of articles that warrant a closer look. Thanking you in advance for any reconsideration of your vote and hoping you choose to include the Andre Julian article ...

Yuri716 (talk) 21:18, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

  • Yuri716 Thanks for reaching out. To answer your complaint, first off i want to start by giving a warm apology as to if you were offended by my review on your draft. I might not have substantial knowledge in a particular field but i review articles here according to guidelines and criteria for inclusion, it wasn't a hasty review because i spent several minutes on the article.

1. The first reference from Morningstar Inc is a Press Release here we do not accept press pieces as a reliable reference. If a person or subject is not notable enough per WP:NOTABILITY guidelines there's just no way around it.

2. Don't take it as an attack but i will not reconsider my "vote" or chose to "include" it into Wikipedia just because you wrote a few paragraphs trying to make a point which am sure any other editors will share my thoughts. Currently as it stands article fails WP:SIGCOV. Youtube is not a reliable reference unless for example a video was published from the official account of CNN then it could be considered. You added a bunch of YouTube links of which it takes me to a search query on the name "Andre Julian". A search on GNEWS here brings out nothing on Andre Julian. I have however seen a few passing mentions on Fox Business but nothing more.

To conclude article Fails WP:SIGCOV and for now serves as a Portfolio of some sort on the subject, i will be happy to have another reviewer take a look at it right away. If it somehow meets guidelines i will give an apology to you. Lapablo (talk) 22:21, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

I recognize you are a volunteer and help out to keep Wikipedia useful. When it comes to the creation of new pages, the rather militaristic approach of relying on one person's opinion of the content is very problematic as I see it, since its primary purpose is, presumably, to keep the content relevant and not commercial, thereby permitting people to write self-serving material.

The additional problem is that you, I suspect, do not have access to the journals and information I posted. Access to legal information is very challenging for common people. By not having access, they are often stuck in limbo if they cannot afford a lawyer. Based on the comments you left re: submission of the above case relevance and summary, you are unable to access the material; both primary and secondary sources in law are usually expensive to access, so Wikipedia's practice here is counter-productive to its mission to make information and knowledge accessible. I cannot give you better secondary sources because they are behind a paywall. Would you like me to reference them anyways?

The standard of proof and review for technical, though important issues, cannot be one of "write it in a way that a lay editor can understand, and find a blog somewhere that agrees with you and they can access." Do you see the challenge? Thanks. Canlawtictoc (talk) 23:17, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

Canlawtictoc Thanks for reaching out. I want to first off thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia so far and like every other person we are just volunteers making Wikipedia a better place. I wouldn't say review of articles is left to one person to decide as i am just a reviewer and once i tag an article an admin would have to go through it to confirm if it is properly tagged like in your case before being deleted. The point of all this is so that articles remain Neutral Point of View, Verifiable and most importantly meet Notability guidelines.

I understand the time and process it takes in creating articles, also how disappointing it can be when you've taken so much time to try to make an article meet all our guidelines but at the end is rejected or deleted, those guidelines are there to keep sanity (literally) in our community here. I do totally understand your challenge and i'm here to assist in anyway i can. can you provide me with some references of the article you created so i can take a look. Perfecthome

Hi Lapablo - I saw your note Re: speedy deletion of the Perfecthome article I published. I've replied on the talk page, but essentially they're now only one of two main players in the rent to own market in the UK (and it's still quite large). I've actually found three further references to include on the page including Sky News, Retail Gazette and The Sun. These cover the closure of all stores, the FCA redress with £2m returned to customers and the purchase of the company in 2018. Also, these topic were already covered in the article as well as issues with the ASA - so I don't think it can be considered a 'promotion' or advert for the company. I hope the additional references and the overview of the industry and why they're notable helps :) Lancshero (talk) 13:47, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

Lancshero Thanks for adding the sources. Please try and address the problems with which the page has been tagged with. Cheers. Lapablo (talk) 17:52, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

Hello, Benbest. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "International School of Temple Arts".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Lapablo (talk) 08:53, 22 June 2019 (UTC)

Just a heads up that I pushed Richard Burnside to article space. He is notable per WP:ARTIST part 4)d: in the collections of multiple notable museums. I can see how you might have missed that, as the other references are a bit thin. Nonetheless, notability is established by the above. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 21:17, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

Draft: Freudenberg Performance Materials

Hi Lapablo,

Thank you for reviewing my draft of the article about Freudenberg Performance Materials. This is appreciated. I just wanted to get back to you on this as I am not sure if I understand your reason for rejection correctly. You stated that "most, if not all the sources i could find are press releases about the company". This is odd. I referenced the article with a total of 42 references. Of these 42, 3 are company sources. One is the annual report of the company to have the most exact source for employee numbers and financials, the other two are additional sources that I used to draw a full picture and be as encyclopedic as possible. The other 39 sources are either from magazines, websites such as Bloomberg or even books. In addition, it is the translation of the article from the German Wikipedia, which the company had developed together with the mentoring program there. By the German standards it meets notability as it has more than 1.000 employees and has a revenue of more than 100m euros. I understand that the English-language Wikipedia has different standards. However, does the combination of independent sources (as used for the references) as well as the size of the company not make it notable? Looking forward to your feedback. Best, --Conandcon (talk) 08:47, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

@DGG: What do you think? --Conandcon (talk) 09:01, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
Lapablo Yes, Freudenberg Group is the parent company of Freudenberg Performance Materials. I felt that a standalone article would be more suitable as especially the rich history could otherwise only partly be described in order for the article about the Freudenberg Group not becoming too exhaustive. --Conandcon (talk) 11:56, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
Okay. Thank you very much for your feedback and the time you spent on this. I greatly appreciate what you and all the other authors do for this project! --Conandcon (talk) 12:06, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
The first step is to expand the article on the min Group so it shows the company structure.--their website is much clearer than the enWP article. (I could easily do it myself from that source, but considering that you are a competent writer and aware of the way WP articles are written, and since if they are paying you, I don't want to deprive you of the business opportunity.)
The next step is to decide how to handle the constituent companies. Since DPM is not a first-order division of the group, but itself a part of the group's "Nonwovens and Filtration" business area which contains several other firms, it's not at all obvious how to go about this. I notice that deWP has articles on some of the other divisions--and that one of the articles de:Freudenberg Chemcial Specialties currently has its notability challenged there on the grounds of insufficient third party sources). Most the the various articles there were written by their user Freudenberg Group -- the deWP permits corporate user accounts for such purposes. One of the reasons the enWP does not permit them, is the impossibility of seeing which individual wrote what. I therefore think it might be pertinent to ask you whether you have been employed for the writing of any of those articles. I'm not sure how the enWP rule WP:PAID applies for what disclosure you might make, nor how the deWP interprets the WMF terms of use, so I can't say this disclosure is actually required , but it would certainly help here. (I'm not askign you to disclose other names of writers who may have contributed, but jus what you have done yourself. In particular, were you hired only to translate the deWP article into English, or was your involvement more extensive.) DGG ( talk ) 17:20, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
I greatly appreciate this, thank you DGG! I already contacted the Group regarding the corporate article. I am sure we will be able to suggest an update on the corporate structure. Regarding de:Freudenberg Chemical Specialities: The article indeed lacks sources; the overall notability is not challenged though. The German Wikipedia considers companies to be relevant if one of the relevance criteria de:Wikipedia:Relevanzkriterien is met (companies 6.14). Here several are met, e.g. 100m revenue, over 1000 employees etc. However, the article needs work – no doubt.
I am advising the company on how to contribute to the Wikipedia articles based on the Wikipedia policies and guidelines, either the German or the English ones. So, I have helped two of their subsidiaries update articles (de:Freudenberg Performance Materials and de:Freudenberg Sealing Technologies), but I am not the one who “pushes the button”, when it comes to the German Wikipedia. For the enWP we decided to use my account, which I had set up for another client earlier, to save some internal resources of the company. Let me know if you have any other questions about my involvement; I am really trying to do my very best to stick to all the guidelines and create a win-win-situation for everybody: my clients and the readers of the article.
To sum it up: In a first step, I will suggest a new section “corporate structure” for the Group including general information, business areas and KPIs – like the German article. After that, we will look into if it makes sense to have an own article about FPM. Right? Thank you very much again for your help on this! --Conandcon (talk) 08:01, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

Article for Creation

Thanks for reviewing the article! Spent a lot of time researching, writing and referencing it. Have some questions for you. I thought there were 2 issues when it came to approving new pages 1) Does it satisfy notability guidelines to qualify for a page? 2) How's it written?

1) I believe it satisfies WP:GNG- otherwise I wouldnt have bothered making it the first page I created here! Not an auspicious start! In your opinion, does it or doesn't it? If it does, can't the page stay, be approved and we work on Point 2?

2) As for the second point, definitely not my intention to make it appear promotional. You wrote: still seems promotional. Can you please give me some examples where you feel the languaage still seems promotional and I will adjust accordingly. Thanks. MaskedSinger (talk) 15:11, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

Dear Lapablo wondering if you saw my reply as I didn't hear back from you. Would very much like to improve the draft but would like to hear from you as to the parts of it that you believe aren't Wiki worthy. Would then adjust accordingly. MaskedSinger (talk) 13:15, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
  • MaskedSinger Thanks for reaching out and i apologize for not replying sooner i barely spend 10mins before logging out. So basically the article may meet WP:GNG but currently it seems promotional. Try trimming down on the products section and work on the page intro, add a few wiki-links. May i ask how you got to create the page? Lapablo (talk) 20:19, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
  • Lapablo Thanks for getting back to me. I'll do that. Yes of course you can ask. I saw an article listing the top apps - paid and non paid. I looked up everyone who was on the list. They were on the list but didn't have a page so I thought I would do it myself. To be honest, I didn't know there was an already deleted page but I guess that makes sense - people create pages all the time before they are wiki worthy. Once I make the edits to the page, should I refer back to you to have a look, or any editor can do it? MaskedSinger (talk) 14:44, 21 July 2019 (UTC)

Hi. I userfied the above draft following a request at WP:REFUND. My rationale was "The article was rejected twice as not notable; however, I have userfied in case it you want to use its content to help you improve List of tallest buildings in Taiwan". I noticed that you moved it to Draft space and further note that you are quite involved with the WP:AFC process.

Could you give me some feedback on my handling of the undeletion request? Should I have restored it to the Draft namespace, or done something differently? Thanks. --kingboyk (talk) 00:46, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Kingboyk You were right to move it to userspace but i think it popped on my notification again so i moved it to draft without checking and just realized there's an already existing article in Mainspace. Can you help userfy it again? Would really appreciate it. Lapablo (talk) 06:57, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
No problem. I've done that (I made a bit of a mess of it to start with it but I think it's in the right place now :) - please ping me if it's not!). --kingboyk (talk) 07:26, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Request on 09:15:14, 29 July 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Ch3rn1k

Hello! What do you think — how should I rewrite this article, what exactly should be fixed, to make this accepted by wikipeda? Ch3rn1k (talk) 09:15, 29 July 2019 (UTC)

CSD G13

Hello, Lapablo,

I just wanted to say thank you for tagging stale drafts for speedy deletion. I know that there are hundreds of them and you can tag a lot without it looking like you have made a dent on the total number...but every little bit helps! Thanks again! Liz Read! Talk! 21:45, 4 August 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion tag

The speedy deletion tag that was added to the now deleted Gboyega Nasir Isiaka page is not supposed to be. I never made use of the supposed source when writing. I will like to see the copyright infringement you spoke of. Thank you. Timmylegend (talk) 08:45, 7 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi Lapablo, I didn't understand why this article is not been published. In Wikipedia:Notability (music) under the Criteria for musicians and ensembles on line no 8 it has clearly mention over there i.e Has won first, second or third place in a major music competition. In this article, Hemant Brijwasi won two times in singing competition which is also mentioned in Wikipedia competition page.

At the last name of winner is Hemant brijwasi. Kindly update on this

G11

I listed Draft:Kurbo & Draft:Tent-less Termite Treatment for G11 as straightforward advertisements. You may want to look at them before they get deleted. The alternative would have been to reject as failing WP:NOT, and changing the notice accordingly to indicate the rejection is based on advertising as well as notability. The reason I go a little slower than youi s because there are so many possibilities to consider. DGG ( talk ) 15:33, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

Edits made for Iskandar Malaysia Studios https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Rashya174

Hi! Our studio has gone through a rebranding/renaming process from Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios to Iskandar Malaysia Studios. As stated in our linked on our page that we have made, we are no longer affiliated with the Pinewood brand. So can you please accept our request for to publish the page or change the current Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios header to Iskandar Malaysia Studios as we are unable to do so!

Good day! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rashya174 (talkcontribs) 01:44, 13 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi Lapablo - Thank you for reviewing Draft:Stefania Skrabak. Based on the following references, the subject appears to meet WP:GNG and WP:ARTIST. Industry Magazine, Westchester Magazine, Brownstoner Magazine, and Domino Magazine show "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject". The LuxPad and HGTV show that "the person is regarded as an important figure" and that "the person's work won significant critical attention". In turn, would you be willing to offer a re-review? E-Stylus (talk) 19:07, 26 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi Lapablo. Recently, you declined my draft Kingdom Studios because the sources I referenced contained only "passing mentions". I just have several questions regarding making the article better, if you don't mind.

  1. Does a draft need a minimum of three secondary sources mainly about the subject in order to be accepted?
  2. May I still include sources that mention the subject if it will add more information to the draft?
  3. Was the issue with all of the sources I cited, or most of them?
  4. Would the following articles be considered "in-depth" in regards to the subject? (1) Kingdom Studios Announces Faith-Based Slate with Lionsgate (2) Erwins unveil details of unprecedented film venture (3) Kingdom Studios Unveils Faith-Based Lionsgate Slate: ‘Jesus Revolution’, ‘Apostles: Resurrection Of Christ’, ‘Drummer Boy’.

I should probably say that I was rather surprised and disappointed when I discovered that you had declined my draft. In truth, I didn't see anything wrong with it, but of course I'm relatively an inexperienced article-creator, as this is only my second or third attempt. I'd appreciate it very much if you'd help me to see what I can do to improve my draft. Thanks! —J.S. Clingman Fëalórin, A Child of God (talk) 23:54, 25 August 2019 (UTC)

aking a look at this, I think there might be a much better case for notability after its first film is released. DGG ( talk ) 06:07, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for that, DGG. I personally think that the amount of coverage the subject received from multiple secondary sources should be enough to justify the existence of the article on Wikipedia, but I can understand if others do not feel the same. Oh, well. Better late than never, as they say!—J.S. Clingman Fëalórin, A Child of God (talk) 01:24, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
  • J.S. Clingman Thanks for reaching out. I apologize its taken me sometime to reply, just got out of work and have two days free. Yes the sources you presented seem good, however as at when i conducted the search it was difficult finding sources for the subject. I will take a look at the page once more but as DGG suggested they'd be a much better case for notability when the first film is released. I think they'll be more coverage by then, but by all means you can resubmit and i'm happy to leave it to another editor to review. Lapablo (talk) 10:13, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
No, worries. ;) Thanks so much, Lapablo, I think I'll add to the draft the one source above that I didn't reference yet, and then I'll resubmit it. If it's not accepted, I'll just try again some other time, after the first film is released, perhaps. Thanks!—J.S. Clingman Fëalórin, A Child of God (talk) 20:21, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for your understanding. Happy editing Lapablo (talk) 20:45, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
Certainly. Have a wonderful day! ;)—J.S. Clingman Fëalórin, A Child of God (talk) 03:04, 29 August 2019 (UTC)

Lightricks Draft

Hey Lapablo, Draft:Lightricks has undergone a lot of work since you first rejected it and has even been updated by a senior editor. Additionally it has since had a billion dollar valuation. Would you mind taking another look? MaskedSinger (talk) 04:14, 2 September 2019 (UTC)

Hello there, how was just wondering if you were Nigerian because you're interest seem to be similar to mine which is about Nigeria in general. — Preceding unsigned comment added by OmoYoruba45 (talkcontribs) 03:13, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
