Combustion are an American rock band from Bruce, Wisconsin. Formed in 2002, the group now consists of Cinderblock (vocals and guitar), The Violence (guitar and vocals), John Manosky (drums and now guitar), and Jon Fields (drums and percussion). Combustion's early sound was rooted in post-punk but eventually grew to incorporate influences from many genres of rock. Throughout the group's musical pursuits, they have maintained a sound built on distorted chaos, highlighted by The Violence's guitar sounds by hitting open guitar strings and Cinderblock's expressive, screaming vocals. One reviewer of the band's music described them as "a cross between The Doors and Nine Inch Nails." Their lyrics often dealt with personal themes and anger towards 'the man.'

Combustion formed in the basement of Dave and Cherri Manosky in 2002 when the four original members (including Paul Manosky at bass) were teenagers. Consisting of members with both experienced and limited musical proficiency, they wrote their first single, “Eat Your Soul”, during their second writing session together and wrote five more songs before the end of the year. The demos for these sessions were recorded on cassette tape and unofficially released under the album name “Feel the Burn” since then. Tensions soon broke out in the band when The Violence wished to take on lead vocals for some songs, which Cinderblock was particularly against at the time. Paul Manosky also opposed the band performing live in any capacity and often times acted to sabotage the band from the inside, most notably when he suggested the band orient itself towards Christian rock. The band broke up shortly after recording their final song, “Rage (So-Called Friend)”, in the fall of 2002. John and Paul Manosky went on to form the cover band Overtone while The Violence and Cinderblock strayed away from the music scene altogether. The band would develop a cult following both during and after their existence, especially within the Tinberg family and other peers from Bruce at the time.

In 2013, Cinderblock and The Violence reunited to write and record 12 demos for a new Combustion album to be released later this fall. John Manosky has expressed his interest in returning to the band on guitar, while Jon Fields has offered his services on drums and percussion for the project. At present time, Paul Manosky is no longer considered a member of Combustion.
