Hi, my name is Chris and I am crazybonkers about plants and the sowing, nurturing and photography thereof. A specimen doesn't have to be a beauty to thrill me, as long as it has a backstory and, ideally, visible inflorescence. Moss, grasses and lichen (not actually a plant anyway) I will leave to the phDs! My obsessions tend to be from China and all points west until the Bosphorous, although this year the flora of southern Africa (petite Gladioli species, Moraeas and Lachenalias being among my germination successes ( though quite how I get 50+ species of year-old Glads through the winter with no heating I have no idea. Chile, with an alpine climate in many parts and the most stunning (and challenging) Tropaeolums in the world (not hardy) and many other stunning plants that, if dry, will take a frosting, is a revelation! I write a blog, www.theplantboy.blogspot.com that covers my failures and odd success.
