Personally, I didn't see it as a big deal, since once it was obvious I wasn't interested and found the entire thing funny rather than sexy, he never really talked to me again.

"Now, the actual creepy thing most people forget is that during the time Lilah joined the strip, he was dating a girl named Maya from the Mall Monkeys forum. She was 16. There was copious amounts of phonesex and when he made plans to fly out and see her she freaked out and dumped him. There was an old newspost before all the makeover stuff happened on the frontpage where he was bummed out around valentines because his girlfriend broke up with him, according to Maya that was her.

The RoM Incident

On September 12 2005, a topic in the Rantings of Madmen subforum was posted containing allegations about Ctrl+Alt+Del's author, Tim Buckley by the user "Onslaught". The thread was soon locked and the person who posted the allegations banned. However, as retaliation for this, several of the regular posters in RoM (Known as "RoMites" or "RoMans") posted highly offensive topics in the Ctrl+Alt+Del general forums section that claimed the admin of the site was a paedophile or just generally attacking him. The forum moderators swiftly deleted such topics and banned the users who created them. The RoMites belived that this was to silence them and prevent the rumours getting out although most believe the rumors to be exactly that; the Ctrl+Alt+Del moderators saw the RoMites as trolling and banned them as punishment. A RoMite posting a thread in Ctrl+Alt+Del and then being banned for it became known as "Romicide".

After the first wave of bannings, several of the Ctrl+Alt+Del moderators, who were also largely RoM subforum regulars, rebelled against Ctrl+Alt+Del policy, un-banning RoMite users. Tim soon banned the moderators and replaced them with ex-RoMites that had not rebelled(ironically including the user Sandor, who was one of the most flamed users on RoM and it was a running joke that he would become a mod). As a result, Tim Buckley eventualy closed the Ctrl+Alt+Del forums, with the message "Forums are down whilst we take out the trash". In the aftermath of the downtime, the number of users on the Ctrl+Alt+Del forums had dropped from around 15,100 to around 12,950. However the actual estimate of banned members was probably around a hundred, the rest supposedly being inactive accounts that were deleted.

On September 13, RoM was moved to its new (and present) location, hosted by a member of the forums. As of 2006 the forums are down.
