Hello, my name is Ben, but you can call me by my username, Lord.of.the.Proterozoic

I am a hobbyist nature photographer from Sydney, Australia. I mainly focus on photographing native birds and wildflowers, particularly my favourite Australian parrot and Proteaceae species.

My other hobbies and interests include:

  • Paleontology and evolutionary biology (particularly of ornithopod and theropod dinosaurs and Permian therapsids)
  • Early Earth history (as my username would suggest!)
  • Threatened species conservation
  • Ecology
  • Ornithology
  • Taxonomy
  • Zookeeping

I hope to get involved in scientific research and field work of local and endangered species and ecosystems. My main goal is to work with swift, western ground and orange-bellied parrots, as well as the various endangered ecological communities of the Greater Sydney Area.

I also hope to travel across all of Australia to photograph more of our weird and wonderful endemic species.
