Training for Students complete!
I am a pre-major student at the University of Washington in the greater Seattle area. I am a first year student planning to receive a RN degree in four years. Right now, I am passionate about trauma nursing as well as the field of Neuroaesthetics. My desire to help other people will be fulfilled when I am able to impact just one persons life through my career in nursing. In my spare time, I like participating in intercollegiate soccer as well as racing motocross.

Neuroaesthetics: Neuroaesthetics is a recently new topic developing in neuro science today, and is even more relatively recent to Wikipedia. I am very interested in neuroaesthetics as a whole but am disappointed because it is weakly represented on Wikipedia. Neuroaesthetics may be very faintly represented because it is a specific study that has been recently discovered in science. There is some controversy around this subject, however, new and current information is being added to this article each day.
Neuroarthistory: Since this term was coined in 2005, this area of study is also fairly new to Wikipedia. This topic is very briefly represented, because it is a new field of research. There is definitely room to improve and add to this page. So far, all Wikipedia consists of, is a basic definition and some background information about where the term comes from. Wikipedia is lacking reliable sources as well as important information needed to fully understand the topic.
Art and dementia: I am personally really interested in studying this topic because this issue effects so many individuals today. When I came across this Wikipedia article, I noticed that it had some really great information. However, I would like to see this article contain more facts and stories about dementia patients living their lives through art and if/how it benefits them. From studying this in a previous class, I know there is more information out there that would make a great addition to the page.
Psychology of art: This is an area of interest that has been around for a while and has been widely discussed around the world. Many studies show that there is a link to art and your brain and Wikipedia can give you all of the information about it. This article on Wikipedia is well developed with a full history and conversation about how art and psychology work together.
Neurosurgery as Art: On the flip side of things, I would like to see how neurosurgery can be seen as art. I don’t know much about this topic but I have an idea that it could have a lot of potential. There isn’t a Wikipedia article about or relating to this subject, but I could see it being a great article for curious readers like myself. With the help of neurosurgical instruments and technology, I believe that neurosurgery could be definitely seen as an art.
