The template says "titles granted by the crown". Is this correct? Surely it is the monarch as a person not the crown as an institution who grants titles. Thanks --Camaeron (t/c) 16:56, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Although the template at least notes the title disputed, the inclusion of Louisa Maria from 1692 to 1712 seems to me to be problematic. Although her brother, James Francis Edward Stuart, was similarly claimed to be Prince of Wales between their father James VII & II's being deposed in 1688/9 and his "succession" to the Jacobite claim on his father's death in 1701, he is only listed in Template:Princes of Wales for 1688, when he undisputedly held the title. Similarly his son Charles Edward Stuart claimed the title Prince of Wales, but is not included in that template. On top of this, Louisa's claim to be Princess Royal in 1692 is complicated by the fact that she had two older half-sisters still alive. While Mary II was seen as having forfeited her rights by the Jacobites, at this point it is far less clear cut that the same could have been said about Anne, as any settlement that would have restored James VII & II to the throne at this point would have almost certainly required Anne to at least be second in line to the throne after her half-brother, but ahead of her half-sister.
