U.S. state templates

Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. states/state templates lists and displays all 50 U.S. state (and additional other) templates. It potentially can be used for ideas and standardization. //MrD9 07:16, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NorthwestLA

Northwest Louisiana is to Northern Louisiana as Southwest Louisiana is to Acadiana. If NWLA is in the template, then SWLA, Cajun Heartland, and other more specific regions within larger cultural regions should be in it also, shouldn't they?If not, then shouldn't only the five or six major cultural regions be in the template, and not just a few of those according to various sources, and a selected number of individual regional sub-sets?

Regions

For Louisiana I suggest it is best to keep the template to the five regions based on the traditional map. It keeps it simple and it's backed by an expert source. This would mean that Northwest Louisiana would be relocated into a new article called North Louisiana. There is a page called List of regions of the United States, which makes sense for listing the 5 regions with any "more specific" subregions. -- Aaron charles 03:17, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Standardization of state templates

There is currently an ongoing discussion regarding standardization of state templates (primarily regarding layout and styling) at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject U.S. states/state templates. An effort was made earlier this year to standardize Canadian province templates (which mostly succeeded). Lovelac7 and I have already begun standardizing all state templates. If you have any concerns, they should be directed toward the discussion page for state template standardization. Thanks! — Webdinger BLAH | SZ 22:48, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi everybody! I've made a compromise template based on the changes by Aaron charles and Kunzite. Please let me know what you think. As a Michigander living in American Samoa, I'll admit that I don't know a whole lot about Louisiana, but I'm trying to make these templates look consistant while stil having some local flavor. Add State Parks to Template

I'd like to add List of Louisiana state parks to the template to be consistent with Pennsylvania and Ohio's state template as well as other states whose list of state parks is well written. Just checking to see if there is dissenting opinion. I know it's in the category list, but it doesn't provide any information that the list does (size and establish year of parks, history, etc.) Thanks Michael miceli (talk) 17:08, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
