In Texts section Please include Sangam Literature aswell. For reference see List of Hindu texts article. Most of Tamil texts dated from 2nd century BC to 10th century CE comes under this. This is umbrella term for those.

Proposal: Pruning redundancies, moving parts of this template to other templates, and possibly a new template

  • This template has gotten quite large, which is understandable given the extent and depth of Hinduism. I wonder if it may be better to move part of it over to other templates to allow this one to be pruned a bit. In-fact these templates already overlap significantly, which only adds redundant bulk to all them. Pruning the redundancy would help with the bulk and also eliminate any confusion about where new additions should go and which template belongs where.
  • In particular, I think it may be best to move parts of the Concepts list, particularly the "Ontology", "Mind", "Ethics", and "Epistemology" sublists, to Template:Hindu philosophy. To keep the relevant articles connected it would be necessary to swap the sidebars on many of these articles, but I don't mind doing this.
  • The Texts list could similarly be trimmed by moving material to Template:Hindu scriptures and texts and using that template on relevant articles.
  • The Gurus, sants, philosophers list is extensive and largely disorganised, only grouping names into three vague time periods. Organising the list would add a lot more bulk to this sidebar, so I think it may be best to create a new navbox like Template:Catholic saints. Like that navbox, the new one could be more organised than the current list here at this sidebar. Organising the list better at a new navbox wouldn't just allow this sidebar to be pruned a bit, but would also make it clearer who is included and why. In contrast, the current arrangement invites editors to add names arbitrarily.
I suggest pruning all individual names from this template, moving them to a navbox, and listing only prominent named groups with collective articles like the Alvars and Nayanars here, with a link to the list article for particular individuals.

Please add Tirumurai and Naalayira Divya Prabandham in Texts part of this template and give title as Tamil Hymns or someother relevent subtitle.

Reason: Tirumurai and Naalayira Divya Prabandham are most popular and notable Hindu texts. You can refer the articles Tirumurai and Naalayira Divya Prabandham for reference. They are also present in Template:Saivism and Template talk:Vaishnavism in their scriptures section. I think this is missed since it is Tamil literature and only sanskrit is considered. 106.198.109.185 (talk) 16:48, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Order of denominations

  • @Hororoka: Is there a reason for the order you chose for the traditions list? Your edit summary said you alphabetised things but you actually undid the alphabetical order, in favour of what looks like an arbitrary order. I'm also not sure why you removed the line break; it was there to make the link block balanced, rather than awkwardly isolating one link on a line by itself. -- Scyrme (talk) 19:10, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Timeline of Hinduism article simply redirects to the History of Hinduism article. For this reason, I suggest that the link to the Timeline of Hinduism be removed. In other words, Please change "Hindus * History * Timeline" to "Hindus * History" 2603:6080:3804:7C8D:F131:6D70:3400:E483 (talk) 20:51, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
