Aurora shooting

I dont think this article belongs in the template. its only tangentially related. If this goes here, how about other articles tangentially related to the films, including the actors?Mercurywoodrose (talk) 01:48, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

John Blake redirects to Robin!?!

That's pretty dumb, considering they're not the same character... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.127.120.119 (talk) 09:02, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Dark Knight Trilogy

Hey ;3

Does anyone support the change from 'Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy' to 'Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy' as Warner Bros. have been using the term 'The Dark Knight Trilogy' in the Man of Steel trailer, the upcoming DVD boxset and with the trilogy's scripts. I believe this change should be made. Does anyone else agree? --Bartallen2 (talk) 21:12, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'd oppose it. There's no need to insist on giving it a label just because one can be found as a marketing device. In my mind it is still best to leave this as a descriptive title. Also with leaving the title as it is, it is in keeping with the "Tim Burton / Joel Schumacher Batman film series" template. WB marketed these films as "Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology 1989-1997" but it would be ridiculous to change the title of that template. --Rob Sinden (talk) 10:36, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That collective term you speak of was only for the DVD's whereas 'The Dark Knight Trilogy' has been marketted in a trailer, a compliation of the scripts and throughout various articles upon the Internet, so on and so forth.--Bartallen2 (talk) 02:39, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Still, a descriptive title is better, rather than a marketing title. Maybe we could reconsider in the future, but there's nothing wrong with it how it is, and if you look at the Batman in film page (for example) the two templates are uniform side by side. Incidentally, it isn't a "trilogy" in the true sense of the word, as it wasn't conceived as three films. Also WP:NCF prefers "film series" over "trilogy". --Rob Sinden (talk) 08:46, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Dark Knight Trilogy is the official title for this series, and it should be title for this template. Charles Essie (talk) 18:14, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's a retroactively added marketing construct. Is Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology the "official" title[1] for the Burton/Schumaker films? --Rob Sinden (talk) 08:09, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Remove Gotham knight

The film is not cannon with the series, says so on its page, so why are we still keeping it on the template

Hypothetical question on other DCEU characters being added

Assuming pages on the DCEU versions of Batman-related characters such as Harley Quinn and Joker get published into the mainspace, would they be better lumped in the DCEU section along with Bruce Wayne / Batman, or put down as "Related"? Batman appears in Suicide Squad, which features both Harley and Joker, but while they're both traditionally Batman villains, Harley has her own film in the franchise independent from Batman, namely Birds of Prey.--WuTang94 (talk) 20:18, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
