Brandon on guitar

On here it says that Brandon does rhythm guitar but I have never seen him play guitar with Incubus before. I want to move it to occasional guitar just because I'm sure he has at some point but he usually is just the singer.

Brandon consistently plays rhythm guitar on certain songs, every time they are performed. Currently there are videos of him playing rhythm guitar on Pantomime, Pistola, and both Earth to Bella 1 and 2, as well as If Not Now, When?. This is well-documented even as early as the Alive at Red Rocks DVD, where he can clearly be seen playing guitar and in fact providing the main guitar melody for most of the performance of Pantomime. Genres

I could not find any sources labeling Incubus as jazz-rock/jazz fusion, experimental rock, progressive rock, etc. (Sugar Bear (talk) 23:12, 22 June 2009 (UTC))

May I point out that this band has been added to the List of nu metal bands with 5 sources to support it. Should this genre be added ? zubrowka74 02:16, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
I've pointed out several problems with those sources, and several sources stating that Incubus never performed nu metal, but these issues have been ignored by the editors trying to hold dominance over that list. (Sugar Bear (talk) 02:19, 10 June 2010 (UTC))

They started off as alt-metal/nu-metal. However, Incubus hasn't been nu-metal since Make Yourself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Editorofstupid (talkcontribs) 05:37, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

incubus was at no point nu metal. they may have been associated with nu-metal bands because of their ozzfest appearance, among other things but they have ever been nu-metal, even in their earliest days —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.244.176.72 (talk) 05:03, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

toured with sublime

Despite what the source may say, sublime were definitely not touring in 1997. 192.12.88.11 (talk) 03:02, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Associated Acts are The Roots?

How are The Roots and Incubus related? I mean, I like both, I'm just sayin... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.139.224.238 (talk) 13:08, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Reply: The current bassist is a former Roots guitarist.

====

I'm not going to edit it in case i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure that "Talk shows on mute" was inspired by 1984, not Animal Farm. It's even in the chorus and the video doesn't exactly have much to do with soviet russia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.146.9.192 (talk) 23:20, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Grammy Nomination

Incubus was nominated for the Grammy award for Best Rock Performance, for their song Megalomaniac, in 2005. Stop reverting the edits including this fact. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Editorofstupid (talkcontribs) 05:38, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

acoustic appearance on MTV?

Do any bigger fans actually know what this was all about? I have mp3s of some kind of acoustic / unplugged appearance on MTV, and there are videos of a similar but possibly different performance (the audio has, at least, been recorded from an entirely different mic, and parts of the incidental speech etc seem different) scattered around the web. However there is nothing about this in any online literature about the band, or at MTV themselves... it's like the "bootleg" records of it have arrived from another dimension. It might have been Unplugged (studio doesn't seem big enough), or maybe 120 Minutes (the show is mentioned in the compere's speech, but the 120m tracklists show nothing of the sort)... or something else? Whatever it is, it doesn't show up in the wiki article either.

Can ANYONE shed some accurate light on what these recordings represent? For a whole nationally-broadcast show (or even two of them) to have gone missing from the annals when enough other minor ones are listed here is a bit strange. 77.102.101.220 (talk) 13:08, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Funk rock and funk metal

Funk metal should be re-added. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.61.142.62 (talk) 22:08, 25 October 2011 (UTC)

they only did one funk album, not enough to warrant it being one of the main genres. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.32.220.148 (talk) 20:17, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

genre

I'm putting (early) next to alternative metal and funk metal since those two genres only represent their first couple of albums. Their new stuff isn't even remotely metal.

Too many metal genres listed?

There are currently three metal genres listed in the infobox (nu metal, funk metal and alternative metal). This is highly misleading, since it gives the illusion that Incubus are mainly a metal/hard rock band, when in reality, they've been a popish alternative rock band since their third album. I suggest nu metal and funk metal are removed, since they both fall under the "alternative metal" umbrella. Also, a few of their post-S.C.I.E.N.C.E. albums have some songs which could be classified as alternative metal. Nu metal and funk metal on the other hand are terms which can only be applied to their two albums

--I call the big one bitey (talk) 19:56, 13 December 2015 (UTC)

I would argue to have funk metal staying, at least. I mean, it's also a sub-genre of funk rock, and that's not listed. Perhaps we could also list pop rock if we want to recognize the style of their later albums more? Also, alternative rock is already the first genre listed, implying that it's the most prominent genre of their career. Kokoro20 (talk) 23:58, 13 December 2015 (UTC)

Funk Rock, Funk Metal and Nu Metal labels

I think funk metal and nu metal should have the "(early)" tag on it as it's more than true, as make yourself debuted a more friendly, simpler alternative metal and alternative rock style, funk rock i think could stay as theres plenty of instances in thier music where its reached that genre
