Since the Celestials conduct there experiments on behalf of the Abstracts, does that make the Watchers the enemies of the Abstracts? For some reason I dont imagine the Abstracts having enemies.

Wasn't there a Celestial inside the Earth in Earth X? Was he realted to vibranium?

I remember a Celestial being inside Earth X. And I remember they traveled to alternate Earths to warn them of Celestials inside of them. But does that mean there's a Celestial inside Earth 616? --AlGorup 14:46, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There was an early issue of X-factor where the team is on a planet about to be judged by Arishem. The planet is teeming with mutants , Jean Grey channels the combined power of the inhabitants to destroy Arishems Hand as he judges them unworthy. The celestials then leave as the locals have proved themselves.

Also there was a Thor story dealing with Ego the living planet which was shown to be the developing stage of a new celestial. Hercules was consumed during the process. Cryonic101 14:36, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder if this article should be organized according to the comics history of the Celestials, i.e. with Kirby's work first, then the later additions of other writers and artists. how in the hell did sue storm crack a celestials armor...when even thor couldn't?

It was due to the nature of Sue Storm's powers. She draws the energy to create her forcefields from one of the higher planes of hyperspace and the since the Celestials also draw their power from hyperspace she was able to interefere with that connection and thus shatter Exitar. Makes me wonder what Hyperstorm, a being who had total mastery over hyperspace, could do to a Celestial. TheBalance 00:07, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've been spotting socks long enough to see similarities in style for what they are and not don't make such statements lightly. I've been correct every single time an editor has been checked. Checkuser is a last resort process and isn't for fishing expeditions; it should only be requested when there is a violation of Wikipedia policies, which I don't see here. I can't see a reason why not reverting these changes directly! When someone trashes the work of others, without login, without further explanation or notice, without asking how others think about it, for me this is pure vandalism! I made a small edit to the beginning of the 'character biography' section stating that thusfar no Celestial has ever been seen without it's armour off and that it's possible they may be being of pure enery who are their armour. It doesn't really add anything to the article as such, but I thought it sort of added to the enigmatic feel of the section as a whole. HalfShadow 05:26, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

• The article in it's old form was unfortunately far too long and not very written. It read like a fan page. But, the entry is now looking fairly sharp. I've tidied up the look of the page as the Cosmic Marvel list destroyed it. The only place that it seems to be able to sit without disrupting the text is at the very bottom of the page. I think it may need to be reduced to just a logo as opposed to listing ALL the relevant characters. I also pulled the Tiamut picture as you can hardly see him and it also disrupts the text. Hope it helps.

Done. It is actually pretty solid but needs a few more references. However, it does need some more out-of-universe material on the creation and thinking behind the group. The sentence The cosmic cube named Kubik claimed they were "many orders of magnitude" above itself and another powerful entity able to create new realities, the Beyonder. is not necessary as there are several examples present that demonstrate what the characters are capable of, and it is also not appropriate as it is a claim by a fictional character about other fictional characters. Trying to argue a case about who is more powerful than whom is fruitless. Much like debating the merits of an equation in which differing numbers are multiplied by zero, as the result was always be zero. The characters aren't real.

Said characters power levels also go up and down depending on the writer, leading to inconsistencies. Galactus is a classic example of this. It is therefore best to just adhere to a description of what they can do, as opposed to whether they can do it better or worse than another character. After all, the article on Quicksilver doesn't have a section stating who he is faster or slower than on the superspeed scale.

The overall focus is that character or group, not everyone else and how they relate to the original.

Fictional history's third paragraph includes the sentence

The two opposing factions of the First Firmament's children could not peacefully co-exist and the ensuing war nearly destroyed on the first earth alien planet the first universe.

So, what was nearly destroyed? The bolded text is sheer gibberish, probably from an editing error, perhaps one or more cut-and-paste errors. Thnidu (talk) 02:48, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As I enter this wikitext, it is appearing in normal sans-serif font as if it were finished display text, not the monospace typewriter-like font (Courier New?) that editing work always appears in until previewed, and then when published. I first noticed this peculiar behavior when entering the talk section immediately before this one, #Gibberish. Perhaps it is related to the template mentioned in small type at the top of this talk page when viewed as a wiki page but not when adding a section. I do not recall ever seeing this kind of notice before:
