Russian war crimes

As news appears about murdered civilians left in the streets of Bucha and a mass graves can we have a mention here of the atrocities or a link to a dedicated page dealing with the war crimes committed by Russian soldiers in Ukraine. HuttonIT (talk) 10:04, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

 Done, see #Bucha Massacre. HappyWithWhatYouHaveToBeHappyWith (talk) 22:43, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ukrainska Pravda should not be used as a source

In the Bucha massacre section it is used to source the text "According to first estimations at least 280 bodies were found." A death count of over 300 has been supported by reliable sources, but Ukrainska Pravda is probably one of the worst sources you could pick. It doesn't even meet WP:NPOV and is clearly a propaganda site. If you go on their main page, at the top of the screen you'll see "WAR IN UKRAINE. TOTAL APPROXIMATE LOSSES OF THE ENEMY FOR (depends on what day it is). Fijipedia (talk) 11:17, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fijipedia your probably right but I do think that pravda.com.ua is a very different media outlet to pravda.ru the older amongst us remember Pravda pre 1992 spouting communist propaganda. HuttonIT (talk) 16:17, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Bucha Day

The article says "Bucha Day is celebrated in the city on 13 September." Is this a real thing? I can't find any evidence for it. The sentence was added by Smbu ua on 22 July 2016. —Lights and freedom (talk ~ contribs) 02:08, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It appears to be a real thing that they have “city days”, roughly translated as “Bucha Day” into English. Maybe try searching for Ukrainian-language sources by grabbing search terms from the ukr language version of the page? HappyWithWhatYouHaveToBeHappyWith (talk) 04:57, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@HappyWithWhatYouHaveToBeHappyWith: I don't know any Ukrainian and can't read Cyrillic. Given that you found evidence for this event, would you mind adding a source yourself? Thanks. —Lights and freedom (talk ~ contribs) 05:18, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I’ll try to find one when I have time. I don’t actually know Ukrainian either, I’m just planning to use Google Translate lol. HappyWithWhatYouHaveToBeHappyWith (talk) 14:06, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I did a search in Russian, its celebrated between the 11th and 13th see here https://bucha.com.ua/index.php?do=tags&tag=%D0%94%D0%B5%D0%BD%D1%8C%20%D0%BC%D1%96%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B0 Lostmywayfelldownahole (talk) 17:50, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
