It will be the 35th edition of the [[Southeast Asian Games]], a biennial sports [[multi-sport event]]. This will be the fifth time that Singapore is hosting the games. Previously, it had also hosted the [[1973 Southeast Asian Peninsular Games|1973]], [[1983 Southeast Asian Games|1983]], [[1993 Southeast Asian Games|1993]] and [[2015 Southeast Asian Games|2015]] editions of the games.
