Sanjay Pathak is an Indian politician, philanthropist and businessman. He had previously served as the Minister of state in Government of Madhya Pradesh[1] and he is a five times MLA from Vijayraghavgarh constituency of Katni District in Madhya Pradesh.

Political career

Sanjay Pathak's father, Late Satyendra Pathak was also a politician. Sanjay contested Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2008, for the first time in his life and won substantially. He retained his seat in the 2013 Elections. However, he soon resigned from his seat in April 2014 due to ideological differences with Indian National Congress and joined BJP. He re-contested and won the August By-Poll[2] with a huge margin of 53397 votes. He served as the Minister of State for Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises in the Government of Madhya Pradesh from July 2016 till December 2018.

He was re-elected from Vijayragahavgarh again in December 2018 and served the constituency before being re-elected in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2023, he again won by a massive margin to become MLA for the fifth time.[3][4][5][6][7]

Social Work

Pathak gained a lot of popularity for his contribution to the District hospital in Katni. The bhoomipujan of this building was performed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the presence of Member of Parliament and State BJP President V D Sharma and PWD Minister Gopal Bhargava.[8]

In 2022, he arranged a two day medical camp in Barhi (Katni), with a team of over 150 doctors from Bhopal. The medical camp was a mega success with its effect reaching to over 1 lakh people in the form of free medical tests and medicines. Those with relatively serious medical requirements were taken to Bhopal for further treatment.[9]

In 2023, Pathak established a religious/spiritual pilgrim for the poor and needy. It was inaugurated by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the then Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. Shri Harihar Teerth Dham is a one stop pilgrimage destination for all. The Bhoomi Poojan was blessed with the presence of esteemed spiritual Gurus from all across India, including prominent names like Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of the Juna Akhara, Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, JagatGuru Shri RamBhadracharya Ji Maharaj, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Didi Sadhvi Rithambara and many more. [10]

In 2020 to 2021, when the COVID-19 pandemic was at its peak, he helped the needy by providing them with food, medical aid, medicines and financial support. He had converted his family owned SYNA International School in Katni into a charitable COVID care centre to help the infected recover. His efforts helped to save hundreds of life.[11]

In 2013, he had rescued the pilgrims in the aftermath of the flash floods in Uttarakhand. He flew down from Katni to Uttrakhand to help the stuck pilgrims. His efforts were praised by the entire nation.[12]
