Longwell Green is a suburb just outside the east fringe of Bristol. Longwell Green takes its name from the medieval well which used to be situated on the site of the Church. It is located within the traditional county of Gloucestershire and the unitary authority of South Gloucestershire (previously Avon). It lies along the A431 Bath Road, near the River Avon at grid reference ST658710. Population (2011 census) was 6761.[1]

Next to the A4174 are retail and leisure parks. There is a primary school,[2] and Community Centre.[3]

Olympic gymnast and 4 times gold medal winner, Claudia Fragapane is from Longwell Green.

In 2023 it was announced that a 16m mobile phone mast was to be installed in the picturesque setting of Long Beach Road, near to the Willsbridge Mill nature reserve despite significant local opposition. Alternative site were dismissed, despite South Gloucestershire Council stating that there were more suitable locations.
