Français : Membres de la Légion espagnole tenant les têtes de Marocains capturés et décapités durant la guerre du Rif.
Photographie anonyme prise au Maroc au début de la décennie 1920, puis publiée par Jacques Roger-Mathieu dans son livre Mémoires d'Abd-El-Krim, Paris, Librairie des Champs-Élysées, 1927.
Durant la guerre d'Espagne, le journal nationaliste FE (Falange Española) de Séville publiera la photographie sous le titre « Monstruosité rouge » (« Monstruosidad roja ») en prétendant qu'elle représente des miliciens du Front populaire espagnol posant avec leurs victimes.
