André Hoffmann (born 28 February 1993) is a German footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder or central defender for and captains Fortuna Düsseldorf.
Career
Until 2010 he played in the youth system of MSV Duisburg before he was promoted in the summer of 2010.[1]
On 3 January 2013, he left MSV Duisburg for Hannover 96.[2] On 20 April 2013, he scored his first goal for Hannover 96 in a 1–6 defeat against FC Bayern Munich.[3]
Hoffmann joined Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2017 and helped the club achieve promotion to the Bundesliga during the 2017-18 season after finishing top of the 2. Bundesliga.
On 8 July 2022, Düsseldorf head coach Daniel Thioune appointed him as team captain ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.[4]
